How do I loosen the strap on the GenTent Inverter kit?

When installing or adjusting your GenTent Inverter Kit, you may find that you've tightened the ratchet strap down before fully positioning your angle braces. If you need to shift the frame but can’t due to strap tension; don’t worry. You don’t need to take the whole assembly apart. There’s a simple way to release just enough tension to make adjustments safely and easily.

Step-by-Step: Loosening the Strap Without Disassembly

  1. Locate the Ratchet Handle Release
On the ratchet handle, you’ll find a small brass-colored release tab. This is the key to loosening the strap without removing it entirely.

  2. Press the Release Tab Forward
Gently push the brass tab forward. This unlocks the handle and allows you to open it fully.

  3. Open the Handle All the Way
As you open the handle, you’ll notice a cam mechanism at the top. This cam lets you release the strap in small increments; one tooth at a time.

  4. Release One Tooth
The cam will release a single tooth, loosening the strap just enough to allow you to reposition the frame or braces as needed.

  5. Reposition and Retighten
Once your assembly is where you want it, simply close the ratchet handle and tighten the strap as usual. Your GenTent will now be secure and properly aligned.

Tip: Releasing just one tooth maintains the integrity of your setup, while giving you the flexibility to fine-tune the position. It's a quick, safe solution for on-the-fly adjustments during installation.
